Erik Gustafsson Finalist For Three CCHA Awards

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Erik Gustafsson has been selected by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) as one of the top three award finalist for three different awards. The six major awards will be presented Thursday, March 18 at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. Awards given out that night will be the RBC Player of the Year, the Coach of the Year, CCM Rookie of the Year, Best Offensive Defenseman, Best Defensive Defenseman and the Best Defensive Forward. NCAA Skills Challenge Participants Announced

NMU senior goaltender Brian Stewart has been selected to participate in the NCAA skills challenge. Ray Kaunisto has been selected as an alternate for the skills challenge. The skills challenge will be a part of the Frozen Four weekend in Detroit, and held on Friday at Ford Field.

Mark Olver And Erik Gustafsson All-CCHA First Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Northern Michigan University landed two players on the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) All-Conference First Team. Mark Olver and Erik Gustafsson were the Wildcats selected to the first team.

Reid Ellingson NMU's Nominee For CCHA Scholar-Athlete

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Reid Ellingson has been designated as Northern Michigan University’s nominee to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Scholar-Athlete Team. Twelve student-athletes have been designated as their team’s scholar-athletes. The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be chosen from the group of nominees with the winner announced at the 2010 CCHA Awards, presented by RBC Financial Group, Thursday, March 18.
